via FoxyTunes I am usually right. It’s not arrogance that makes me say that. I make it a point not to open my mouth to voice an opinion unless I know what I am talking about. I am a firm believer in reason and logic. I have known a lot of people that think that they are right and will hold out to the very end before admitting they might not be. My husband comes from a family of people who believe whoever yells the loudest and says the meanest things to win the argument is right. Boy do they hate it, when you refuse to be ruffled by all of the bluster and stand your ground.
One of the disadvantages of always being right is that people get angry about it and resent it, even if you are not an “I told you so” person. I’m not. No sense in kicking someone in the teeth. I found a quote today that suits this subject marvelously.
Men are apt to mistake the strength of their feeling for the strength of their argument. The heated mind resents the chill touch and relentless scrutiny of logic.–William Ewart Gladstone, 1809 - 1898
When not in an argument, people do tend to respect my opinion though. I guess being well informed on the things I do know about has some perks. I am also a fount of useless knowledge. Some of the things I know are bizarre. Once when my kids were eating peanut butter sandwiches with honey on them, they wondered how bees made honey. I told them it was bee vomit. For a half an hour I tried to convince them, I wasn’t teasing them. I eventually had to get out an encyclopedia and read to them that the final product of honey was regurgitated(and then explain that it means vomit).
That calls to mind another disadvantage to being right. People think you are really weird if you know weird things.
Two thoughts come to mind:
Don’t ask questions you don’t want the answers to.
Keep your mouth shut and look dumb, or open it and remove all doubt.
That’s why when I do open my mouth, I want to be correct.

Vladimir Nabokov, a Russian writer once said, A work of art has no importance whatever to society. It is only important to the individual. I find this hard to reconcile with the painting hung in a New York museum a few years ago, which depicted Bert and Ernie in a Sado-Masochistic pose.
Art means vastly different things to different people. What do you consider to be art? I find art in the beauty of nature. A drop of water hanging transfixed from the edge of an object in my yard is beautiful to me. Someone else might see a water on some rusty metal. When I see a sleeping child, I am mesmerized. The way a dog’s muscles move in perfect precision when it chases a ball, or an anatomy in general is awe inspiring. Leonardo Da Vinci saw it.
I am not overly impressed with abstract art. The closest I can come to enjoying it is when I look at some paintings obviously done by throwing or splattering paint on canvas. I am intrigued by what might have be the surface tension of the globs that caused them to burst in a specific way.
I recently saw a man on television who had started a Cloud Appreciation Society, and was surprised that other people could start blindly at clouds the way I do.
Find something beautiful and journal about it and maybe take some unusual photos.

I’m not sure why, but a person calling themselves AntiBush, posted comments which were attached to my about page that were AntiBush. I posted my replies and thought maybe a few quotes on the subject would be appropriate.
All progress has resulted from people who took unpopular positions.-Adlai Ewing Stevenson

The Anniversary of 9/11 is almost upon us and I am wondering what did they do with the chunks of the people that they kept and did DNA tests on? Also for the people who had prepaid for their burial arrangements, did their families get a refund for part of it, if there was no body or only a piece of a body? I wonder this because I have a potentially life threatening disease and it causes me to be worse about my naturally morbid sense of humor.
I mean it seems unfair to charge a family several thousand dollars for a casket and a burial plot when there is no body to put into it. Also in some areas of the country, it is even hard to find a place to be buried in the first place, wouldn’t it be better to leave the space for someone who needed it?
Anyone who reads this should try not to be offended. After all my Mother ruined me. She used to tell me that since her soul wouldn’t be in her body any more that we should just put her in a Hefty bag and toss her over the hill.
