My 25th Wedding Anniversary is Approaching

August 6th is my and my husband’s 25th wedding anniversary. I consider it a major accomplishment and blessing. Many of our contemporaries did not make it, thus the sense of accomplishment. The blessing I feel is due to not knowing what I would do, if ever I rolled over in the night and my husband was not there reassuring me that I am not alone in this world.  There are many nights I can’t turn my mind off and would worry myself into the ground without his presence.

Often people do not realize that marriage truly is just an agreement to work together for the same future. It does not matter how much you think you love one another if you are like Dr. Dooliittle’s Pushme Pullme.

To love, it is not only to look at one another but to look in the same direction.

I am adding some prompts and quotes for marriage or in the present culture significant other.

Even if you never tell your mate what they mean to you, because of the intense vulnerability that would cause, it wouldn’t hurt to write down some of the things they do that you find the most endearing, and the things you would most miss if they were no longer with you. It will remind you how lucky you are and put a little lift in your step and joy in your heart.  If you are presently despising the ground your mate walks on because they yet again put the empty milk carton back in the fridge and then left their wet towel in the floor, maybe you could make a list of things you used to like about them.

Now on to the quotes.

This one I like very well. I suits very well how I felt when I got married. I felt like the children in C.S. Lewis’ The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe. I felt like I was stepping into another world and even if it still looked somewhat like our world, it still held quite a bit of the unknown.
